The small port of Ban Phe is the departure point for speedboats and slow boat to Koh Samet. There are regular, scheduled boat services but timetables aren’t necessarily fixed as public boats will until there are enough passengers before departing. At the weekend or during High Season this isn’t an issue as there is a steady stream of people arriving throughout the day. But during Low Season (May to October) you may have to wait at the pier for up to an hour on weekdays.
Ferry Services to Koh Samet (recommend)
This is the fastest way to get to the island, take around 20 minutes . My company only operates during the daytime. A private speedboat charter from Ban Phe to Koh Samet during the daytime costs is 5,000 THB round trip and can accommodate up to 16 passengers. If youare traveling outside of daytime hours, please reconfirm the price.
***If you have a lot of luggage, this is the best way to travel.
Slow Boat to Koh Samet (one-way)
Passengers must wait until the flight is full before they can travel from Ban Phe to Na Dan Pier (main pier) on Koh Samet. The journey takes approximately 45-60 minutes.
